Crystal Head Vodka was conceived of and created by actor Dan Aykroyd, famous for his time on Saturday Night Live and movies like Ghostbusters and The Blues Brothers, and established American fine artist John Alexander. Founded in 2007, Crystal Head Vodka stands out in two major ways: its attention-grabbing skull-shaped bottle and its additive-free approach to spirit making. Unlike many other vodkas, Crystal Head uses no additives of any kind -- such as sugar, glycerol, or citrus oil -- at any point in the manufacturing process. Crystal Head begins with a specific variety of corn called peaches and cream, which is then combined with spring water from a remote, unspoiled part of Newfoundland, Canada. The resulting spirit is distilled an impressive seven times. The final three distillations are done through a layer of Herkimer diamonds. These semi-precious stones are believed by some to have healing properties. The final product is a supremely pure, smooth vodka that is perfect on the rocks or in any premium cocktail.
