Laphroaig 15 is a premium scotch whisky. A long-time favorite of discriminating scotch drinkers the world over, it was unceremoniously discontinued in 2011. Much to the delight of many, however, Laphroaig 15 is being brought back in 2015 to help celebrate the famed distillery's 200th birthday. Fans should make a point to stock up, however, as this will be a limited, one-time re-release. Unfortunately, Laphroaig 15 will not be returning to the brand's regular, long-term product lineup. As its name implies, Laphroaig 15 has been aged for a minimum of fifteen years. It slots in between Laphroaig's 10 year old and 18 year old offerings. Some connoisseurs consider it the best of the trio: smoother than the 10 year but with a more intense, compelling flavor than the older 18 year. Laphroaig 15 boasts a complex, peaty nose, distinctive notes of almond and nutmeg, and a strong, slightly salty finish.
