For more than 80 years, Marshall 12 YO Scotch has offered a perfect blend of mature malt and grain. That maturity can be seen in the name, with the malt undergoing an aging process of more than 12 years. Taking that long can limit the amount of money that could be derived from producing this spirit, but the makers know that the quality that results is worth that lengthy wait. The amber color that one sees first leads to a sweet aroma that merges coconut and caramel. From there, the palate welcomes the malt that offers a toasty beginning, which then combines with dried fruit and peat to lead to a finish of toffee and pepper. It's been suggested that this product is perfect for either an appetizer with some bite to it, or a main course in which meat is the focal point--either game or beef should be sufficient.
