Marshal 12 year-old scotch is a finely distilled and blended scotch whiskey. Aged in oak barrels that impart a delicate amber hue, as well as providing a distinctive oaken overtone, any lover of this traditional spirit will be pleased. Overall, the palate is one of rich caramel with hints of toasted coconut husk and a roundly solid medium body. Subtle notes of fruit, with delicate floral hints and an undercurrent of toasted malt and rich peat finish with a pleasantly peppery flourish. It’s even been noted to posses a pleasant hint of toffee. When a splash of water is added, the brilliantly warm caramel elements are enhanced and accompanied by the suggestion of crème brulee. This is a perfect scotch to enjoy on a chilly night, as comforting and embracing as the warmth of fire and friendship. It pairs well with smoked salmon, rich creamed dishes, and even compliments cheese, fruit, or chocolate.
