Compass Box Whisky Company has created a line of finely crafted Scotch whiskies dubbed the Great King Street line. People often overlook the pleasure of a good Blended Scotch due to the popularity of single malt whiskies, but Great King Street will sway any seasoned purveyor of quality Scotches. The Blended Scotch is sometimes looked down upon, but the abundance of cheaply made blends in the market is to blame for the stigma. Great King Street hopes to change the perception of what is considered a standard Blended Scotch, using only perfectly matched single malt whiskies and single grain whiskies. Great King Street offers several distinct blends, including their popular Artist's Blend. It is comprised primarily of Lowland Grain Whisky, Northern Highland Single Malt, and Speyside Single Malt. After aging in both American oak barrels and toasted French oak casks to impart subtle hints of vanilla and roasted marshmallows, the result is an undeniable high quality Blended Scotch.
