Rhum Barbancourt is a drink that originated in Haiti. It is aged for eight years. The rum is made with the juice of sugar cane instead of with molasses. It comes in a tall bottle that has a brown color, accenting the amber color of the rum. When smelling the rum, there are hints of sugar, anise and oranges. This lends to a delicate aroma that gives way to a delicious flavor. It has a buttery feel with hints of brown sugar on the palate. The spices used in the drink are mild. There is very little afterburn to the rum.
