Botran Reserva Blanca Silver Rum, which only became available in the latter half of 2012, begins to take shape in the Guatelmalan mountains, and is aged through the use of the Solera System. That means that the rum sits in delicately toasted white oak barrels that had previously held bourbon. That isn't the end of Botran's process, since the rum's color is then removed through charcoal filtration. That crystal clear appearance is just the beginning of what will be a smooth ride for the individual lucky enough to sample it. That person will undoubtedly detect the fresh vanilla aroma that offers some punch, but not enough to overwhelm anyone. The vanilla finds its way to the palate, along with a dash of fruit, offering a smooth connection to be enjoyed. Whether used as a mixing drink for cocktails or sampled on the rocks, Reserva Blanca connects with its intended audience.
