Rhum Barbancourt is a rum that is made with fermented sugar cane juice. It's not made with molasses. The beverage is distilled two times and aged for eight years in oak barrels. The recipe that is used in making the rum was created in 1862. The area of origin is in Haiti. This rum is still produced in Haiti. There is a delicate golden color to the rum. With few notes of grain, there are hints of vanilla and fruits that come through. There is a burning sensation on finishing. There are notes of oak when smelling the rum as well as slight hints of leather.
