Using rums that are juiced with fresh cane and them mixing them with rums crafted with molasses is what gives Atlantico Rum a flavor all its own. This allows the cane juice to enhance the rich body created with the aging of the molasses. This process is one that takes up to five years before the final product comes to fruition. First, each of the rums rests for at least two years (and sometimes as long as three) before then being blended and aged for an additional pair of years. By using the solera aging process, the oldest barrels rest on the bottom and the newest additions are place atop. The aroma is one that has a smoky sweetness to it, with the subsequent taste offering the palate indications of a nutty fruitiness with a dash of spice. The buttery feel allows it go warmly to a finish that's long.
