When Jean-Marie Martin purchased the property that grew the finest sugarcane in Martinique, he knew that it was something unique. In 1845, he decide to shift the focus of the growing practices such that he could cultivate the finest sugarcane available anywhere instead of growing the huge quantities that were the norm. He constructed a small distillery at the plantation and began crafting rum. He burned the initials 'J.M.' on every oak barrel he used, and the letters have since grown into the symbol of the premium, most well known rum in the country. J.M. Rhum offers a fantastic collection of spirits, including a rich E.S.B. Gold Rum that explodes with sugarcane flavor. The golden hue is all that remains after the rum is aged for one year in charred Bourbon barrels. Subtle tones of vanilla and hazelnut balance the raw sugarcane taste thanks to the short aging time, making J.M. Gold Rum a brilliantly exceptionally spirit.
