Angostura 7 Year Old Dark Rum is produced from sugar can molasses in Angostura's traditional five column still. Some of the rum is initially set aside after being put through only one of the five columns. The rest of the rum completes the entire fives step process. Next, the very thick, less distilled rum and the more refined rum are combined. This blended mixture is then aged for seven years in bourbon casks imported from the U.S.A. Angostura 7 Year Old Dark Rum is an excellent choice for those times when you want to really slow down and savor an excellent spirit. Its flavors are complex and layered, they reward a careful palate. The nose brings suggestions of maple syrup, cocoa, spice, and whiskey. Slowly sip the rum and you'll detect sugar and chocolate notes. The finish is dominated by custard, coffee, and perhaps a hint of cigar smoke.
