Finding a happy medium when it comes to the aging process for rums is the byproduct of DonQ Gran Anejo Rum, which takes rums that have rested from between three to 12 years and blends them Solera rums that have been aging for close to two decades. That slow but steady approach has been the right formula to collect an exhaustive number of awards at Spirits competitions over the past seven years. Distilled in Puerto Rico, the aroma for this rum may be hard to pinpoint where exactly the flavor is headed, but spices and fruits are key components when that point is reached. The aging allows a baked fruit taste to also drop in, and when the finish occurs, the oak has a smokiness about it that evokes a nutty vanilla combination. In less than two decades, this rum has established itself among the elite of delicious Carribean rums.
