Rogue distillery's award winning Dark Rum is a multi-layered flavor experience handcrafted from 100% cane sugar. It is deceptively light colored for a dark rum but the sequence of tastes is anything but light. The initial flavors of toffee and brown sugar come across subtle and crisp and are followed up by a medium bodied tang of roasted nuts, spices and sweet oak. At 80 proof it goes down smooth but with enough of a bite to fulfill the piquancy of its spices and flavors. Rogue Dark Rum won the gold medal in the 2009 Ministry of Rum Tasting Competition.
