Ron Zacapa Rum is produced more than 7,500 feet above sea level in a facility known as The House Above the Clouds in remote parts of Guatemala. Such elevation creates the ideal conditions for slow ageing process in the production of high quality premium rum. The thin air and chilly temperatures gradually infuse flavors that are stored inside traditional wooden barrels. With a heritage that is more than five centuries old, the traditional Sistema Solera technique is used to produce Ron Zacapa Rum. The craftsmanship of this beverage is also enhanced with an ancient practice of Mayan art. Each bottle of Ron Zacapa Rum is wrapped in petate band that has been used for thousands of years by local tribes. Modern state of the art equipment is used to monitor the distillation processes of Ron Zacapa Rum. Additionally, master connoisseurs test this beverage for quality control purposes that must be certified.
