The artisans at the London-based Jensen’s Distillery know a thing or two about crafting authentic English liquors. Case in point is their very traditional, very authentic reproduction of the popular Victorian Old Tom Gin. Jensen’s use an old recipes from the 1840s to create what is considered by many to be the most authentic reproduction of Old Tom on the market. What distinguishes Jensen’s Old Tom from the many other varieties is the fact that Jensen’s Old Tom is completely unsweetened. There is historical evidence that this is indeed an accurate representation of the traditional gin. Jensen’s Old Tom is ideally suited for crafting cocktails, in particular those that were popular in the mid-to-late 19th century. Old Tom also makes an excellent gin and tonic. With a traditionally rooty and complex botanical mash, Jensen’s Old Tom makes one of the best cocktail bases around.
