London Dry Gin – Leopold’s Gin For gin to be considered gin in the past, it needed to have juniper as the dominant flavor. For many years, the London Dry juniper-flavored gin was considered the true gin. Some other botanicals such as orris root, cassia bark, bitter orange, angelica, coriander, and liquorice were a much smaller part of the mix. Leopold’s London Dry Gin goes great when mixed with outstanding tonic water. Leopold’s Bros. has a distillery in Denver. They make their gin a bit differently than the older style of gin. They make small batches and distill each ingredient separately including the juniper. This method produces a more balanced gin drink. The product is hand- bottled and hand- labeled, giving a personal touch to the product. Zested oranges and mild grapefruit are added along with other ingredients. This gin makes a great tasting gin for Martinis.
