The gin is created using a carefully balanced combination of malted barley, rye and wheat. Nine different botanicals are then incorporated into the gin to give it the premium taste people expect. The botanicals include things like cinnamon, carob and grans of paradise in addition to traditional juniper. A small amount of malt wine is also added to the mixture to bring out the other flavors. Diep 9 Young Grain Genever Gin is made by hand using artisanal processes. Each batch creates just 52 gallons of gin.
