Distilled in the Netherlands, Ketel 1 Originale Graanjenever is an award winning spirit produced by the Notel Distillery. The alcohol content of this spirit is 40%, or 80 proof. This liquor owes its name to the oldest active distiller in Schiedam, boiler number 1. The distillery takes great care in how this gin is produced, and the copper boilers are not the only thing that give the drink its complex flavors. The fire is constantly tended by their master distiller, because if it gets too hot, the aromas of the gin disappear. Alternately, if the fire is too low, the distillation process will not start.
