When you are looking for something both interesting and hearty, you cannot go wrong with Few American Gin. This gin is one that goes back to the days of Prohibition, and the distillery that made it originally is now making it (quite legally) in Evanston, Illinois. One of the most interesting things that separates this gin from others is the fact that it uses a corn base as opposed to something more 'pure.' The result is an alcohol that has an impressive body, and with the use of the corn, it has ended up being impressively starchy as well. With that starch, the common light herbal flavors have been deepened and given a delicious creamy undertone. Essentially, when tasting Few American Gin, you get an almost waxy juniper flavor that is followed almost immediately by lemon. The vanilla flavor, rather than becoming cloying, appears as a pleasant afterthought for the richer flavors that came before.
