A cognac that has won multiple awards in competition, the Courvoisier Cognac XO is a blended treasure chest of the most mature cognacs in existence. It's been this way for more than two centuries, a span that shows that quality is never out of style. A floral bouquet strikes when assessing the aroma, brought about by a lengthy aging process deep within warehouses that offer a humid presence. However, that's soon superceded by such things as nutmeg, vanilla and a citrus-oriented sensation. That citrus soon manifests itself as orange, and is joined on the palate by the vanilla to help develop a sense that creme brulee is being sampled. That taste comes about because of its origins in a toasted barrel, whereby the sugar was able to caramelize inside of it over anywhere from 20 to 35 years. A somewhat understated finish helps the sweetness linger for quite a while.
