The vineyards that help create Drouet et Fils VSOP have established a long legacy of producing quality eaux de vie. By starting with such quality, the lengthy process in aging them in French oak barrels for roughly a decade (which is much longer than required) to the peak of taste is indicative of why this has been a regular winner at Spirits competitions across the globe. The amber color is intriguing enough to test the aroma, which has hints of cinnamon and vanilla. Also included are additional spices that end up resulting in even closer attention by those with a discerning nose. Floral and wood help balance the palate, which is rewarded with a rich and smooth taste. This occurs due to the apricot and grapes helping provide some sweetness that's countered with a grilled almond presence. That sort of balance takes a delicate approach that only experience can bring.
