Seemingly winning one award after another in Spirits competitions has only emboldened the makers of ABK6 VSOP Grand Cru Cognac to maintain the lofty status that's been attained. Still, after winning the prestigious World's Best Cognac at the 2014 World Cognac Awards, remaining at the top is always a challenge. However, it's one that will be undertaken. The aroma is one that evokes both a woody and fruity note. Also welcomed in the fold is brioche, with a touch of both apple and vanilla to go with it. Finally, cinnamon is a spice that charges forth to set the stage for when this fine cognac reaches the palate. At that point, the apple wood and vanilla again pop up, giving it a rich taste surrounded by some quality spices, some caraway and maybe some apricot as well. At the finish, the drying oak is a satisfying conclusion to this drink.
