While cognac is generally associated with masculine pastimes, Creation, one of the legendary offerings from Martell, has been described by its Cellar Master, Benoît Fil as quintessentially "virile" in character. This spirit, the color of fine mahogany or perfectly caramelized sugar, draws its foundational characteristics from the Grand Champagne wine from which it originates. As much in the aromas as in the tasting notes, the masculine qualities this spirit evokes are evident in the bouquet. It begins with a sharp essence of marmalade, married to dark, plummy notes. On the palate, roasted and bitter richness evokes cacao, coffee, and vanilla. But the finish of exotic eastern spices and the elongated tenor of fine leather truly round out the experience. The mellow, delicate notes are accentuated by the bitter and powerful flavor expressions, intensifying the complex nature of this gorgeous, deep amber cognac. It's ideal for slow savoring in good company after an excellent repast.
