Gautier Cognac has a long and august heritage in the tradition of cognac distillation. It all began in 1644 when a young Guatier married a French wine merchant’s daughter. The original casks were made from the fine French oaks of the Tronçais forest. Ten generations later, they are still busily crafting quality spirits, perfecting their techniques, and seeking to expand their ideas of excellence. Gautier VS is an soft, relatively young golden cognac with notes of fruit, spice, and mellow vanilla. Their VSOP is slightly more amber in color, with notes of more mature fruit and a more fully developed vanilla tone. Their Napoleon offering is a gentle mahogany spirit, with deep notes of walnut and vanilla, piquant dried fruit tones, and a round, velvety vanilla finish. The XO Gold and Blue brings a bit of a game change, with its pale golden floral nose and richly developed tones of toasted pastry and vanilla. Other traditional offerings in their range include a delightful Extra 1755 and a superb Tradition Rare.
